The
opening party for GARTEL's DIGITAL ART/ DIGITAL MOVIES was smashing.
The freaks were out as well as the collectors. A real melange of interesting
people. Gallery owner Withers was pleased with the counter point between
GARTEL's "Digital Art" and Gidget Gein's "Art on the
Edge." It was interesting
to see GARTEL's assemblages of "Elvis" compared to Gein's
watercolor of
James Brown. Gein who played guitar for Marilyn Manson, said, "It
was a
real honor to be in the company of GARTEL: "Under Brow meets Hyper
Brow."
Suffice to say it was a night of outrageousness.
