GARTEL ANTHOLOGY This book is thirty years in the making. Laurence GARTEL was a student at the School of Visual Arts majoring in Graphic Design. Upon graduating, Mr. GARTEL was one of the three founding instructors of the Computer Graphics Laboratory who went on to work with video guru Nam June Paik at Media Study/Buffalo in upstate New York. Laurence GARTEL was one of the first artist’s to work in Paint Box systems ten years prior to the release of Adobe Photoshop. His style and processes have been the foundation of contemporary graphic design. This book highlights the work has done commercially for creative advertising, promotions, as well as for gallery exhibitions, museum shows, event posters and all visual design campaigns. The work of GARTEL covers a visual diary of art theory, art history, and art practice. Through the evolution of technology which has been in a constant state of change and orientation, GARTEL’s work provides the timeline and path of digital imaging and design still maintaing the artist’s personal style throughout.
