ART BASEL 2007

What a fantastic event ART BASEL was this year. Bigger and better than ever.
Does anyone believe that during a one week period, there could be over "26"
individual satellite art fairs? This does not include the main ART BASEL show
at the convention center. Who had time for that? Every connoisseur of good art
knows that the real interesting work is always on the fringe. Thats where you will
always find the edge. And once again the axiom is proven to be true. So many
great shows at PhotoMiami, AiPAD, ArtMiami and all the outside events.

It was indeed a great show at the World Exotic Art Museum where soo many
people came to see my early electronic nudes and recent images from my new
book, "GARTEL: THE ART OF FETISH." Also included in the show were reprocessed
images from the WEAM collection.

The Bank Penthouse Loft showcased large digital prints from the INDIA SERIES
that are so different, people dont know quite what they are. Not a photograph and
not a drawing. The large scale images have such dominating presence in such an
enlightening and spiritual presence. In addition the last of the POLAROID MURAL
series was shown as well. These special mozaic polaroids have never been seen
together which date back to the mid 80s.

Other venues included the AFTER PARTY at club B.E.D. on South Beach as well as a
special showcase of Coney Island Baby and Clown Cuzin at A.N.E.W Museum and
Gallery in Wynwood.

More over, sales of vintage cibachrome prints of early Florida Series works were
almost sold out. It was a great show and an indication that people are buying with
the notion of historical context in mind. Nice that the world is finally catching up.
